Wreck Beach

OMG !! If you have ever wanted to go to a nude beach Wreck beach is the BEST. Nestled just below UBC with a view to the Vancouver Islands and West Vancouver. People are friendly and from all over the world. The hike up and down is a bit steep with about 400 stairs. The ‘Wreck Beach preservation Society ‘ makes sure that things are as they should be. Food is available freshly made on the beach as well as umbrella rentals and lots of funky home made sarongs and things. Hair cuts massages and guitars and bongos abound. The water although somewhat murky due to the tides is generally warm and inviting. There is the main beach which is mixed gay and straight and nobody particuliary cares, typical of Vancouver which is really open when it comes to gay and lesbian. Further to the South is Little Wreck about a half a mile or so. Small and friendly and 100% gay. Alcohol is available on the beach thru wandering vendors but is illegal at best. Listen to the people yelling ‘7UP’ which means that the police or parks board constabulary are roaming around. Bring your sunscreen or some shade as she gets might hot down there. Once you have been there you will rave about it forever. It is easily found and just about everyone in Vancouver can give you directions. Public parking is availble at the top and buses run ther regularly. Google it for more info. The access is off marine drive at University of BC trail number 6 !!! Just past the museum of Anthropology….. Rated one of the worlds 10 best nude beaches.
