Go-go ground zero, this alley is stacked with bars, massage parlors and Thai boys eager to please (and get your tips). It’s the gay male equivalent of the infamous Patpong Road a few blocks down, adapting the latter’s ping-pong ball shows and menus of sex tricks (we’re still trying to figure out what “Pussy does Rainbow” actually is) to the male, um, equipment. Whatever your feelings on the sex trade, you can’t really wrap your mind around Bangkok’s red light reputation till you walk through it. Just be prepared for a touchy feely onslaught and watch your wallet; roaming hands attack farang on sight, coyly trying to pull you into their bar. If you do stay for the show, be prepared for wildly inflated drink prices—and use a condom.
