Prepare to get lost in Boystown’s foremost (and cavernous) stand-and-model video bar. Multi-level fun with several different themes, the place still somehow manages to always feel full. Mysterious! 3349 N. Halsted St., 773-477-9189. www.sidetrackchicago.com.
Sidetracks is great! And Classy! If anyone is looking for a great place to go in Lake County, try 545 North in Libertyville (60048) they are a great little place to hear music, eat fantastic food, and try an eclectic array of spirits. Also, I would suggest hitting up Viva le Vine just a few building south. It’s a great Wine Boutique. The owner is absolutely hilarious, she is VERY knowledgeable about the wine. And both of her associates (one male, one female) aren’t bad to look at either.
I went to sidetrack and decided to move…to sidetrack! It is a super friendly place and what makes it stand out among its competition are the fantastic people, from ownership down, that treat everyone with fairness and respect, and work hard to make sure everyone has a great time. Don’t miss this place.
SIDETRACK REALLY IS THE VERY BEST GAY BAR IN THE WORLD. THEY DO SOOOO MUCH FOR THE GLBT COMMUNITY.
THEY ARE PACKED 7 DAYS & NIGHTS A WEEK.
THE HAVE EXPANDED 4 TIMES, NOW THATS TELLING YOU SOMETHING.
This is the best gay bar I have ever been in. They are a HUGE asset to the community as they continue to give back and embrace all areas of the community. No attitue here, they are inclusive of everyone in the community and make all feel welcome. The lay out of the bar is great, bartenders are fun and welcoming. Thursday Comedy video night is great, but Sunday afternoons with Showtunes are simply the best! Thank you to Sidetrack for all that you do for the community!
The best bar and staff in any gay bar I have ever been. Whether it is your first time there or your 1000th everyone makes you feel like your at home. Never a dull moment
“the place still somehow manages to always feel full”
The chinese food place next door has nothing to do with that BTW.
Every square centimeter of the place was well thought out and done right. From medical grade stainless steel hand rails to a bullet-proof picture window just off one of the side bars for viewing the pride parade. I’ve also never seen ANY other bar adjust every TV to have the same color/hue.
Sidetrack is an amazing place to meet for drinks and conversation any night of the week. I went there on a Tuesday night, and the crowd was an interesting mix of boys, gurls, and the occassional fierce tranny! The videos ranged from early Depeche Mode, to Lady Gaga and Mika. I had a Blast!
Yes… This is indeed one of the best Bars I’ve been too… very welcome and soo much fun. PLUS they do sooo much for LGBT rights!!!
Sidetrack is the best. Lots of fun, good people. Many different music theme nights, but the most fun can be had during showtunes nights. There really is not a bar simular to this even in a gay mecca city like San Francisco. You must go to Chicago, it is a great city and then go to Sidetrack.
Hands down best!
I’ve traveled all over the world and I’ve lived in L.A., S.F., N.Y.C., London and Boston. Nothing compares to the warm, friendly, playful environment of Sidetrack on a Sunday afternoon. It can be many things to many people, but what it mostly is starts with what makes Chicago great: the expanse of New York with the openness of the midwest. People go to Sidetrack and decide to move to Chicago. I’ve seen it happen.
