  • Gayborhood The entire city is gay-friendly. It's a lesbian haven! Gay men may find less on offer, but the liberal spirit pervades, making all of Northhampton a lovely, queer-friendly place.
  • You'll want to avoid the area during the last half of May, when all five of the area colleges have graduation. But the first weekend in May is a great time to catch the spirit of Northampton Pride. Or, make your trip a fall foliage extravaganza and book in mid-October. An hour's drive to the west, the Berkshires attract many summer visitors for extensive music, dance and theater events. From there, plan to do your eating, shopping and clubbing in Northampton.
