Both islands are relatively safe and crime-free. What crime does take place is usually of the petty variety and easy to avoid. Only carry as much cash on you as needed for that day, and as with any destination, alleyways and secluded should be treated with caution, especially at night.

Keep an eye on your drink at all times. Never walk away from it and return to expecting it to be untouched - date rape is a common occurrence in nightclubs and easily avoided if you keep your wits about you at all times. The best type of parting is partying safely.
