Bofetada

Bofetada is dead! Now there are two cool bars in the same street – “Tô Nem Ai” and “Rota 66″.

To Nem Ai is so BORING! It feels like Chelsea in NYC and NOT Rio there. Graet food though, but a snotty chickish crowd…Yes, Bofetada is done, (except for the big gay party they host during Carnival on the street…so good)!

The recently opened Rota 66 (a Tex-Mex Bar/Restaurant also located on Farme de Amoedo) is VERY popular with the after beach crowd. Boys in their beachwear spill out into the sidewalk.

Bofetada is nice, but there is one gay point much more interesting, is “To Nem Ai “.It is a success now!!! It is located in Farme de Amoedo Street, Ipanema.

Bofetada is over. Although it’s been known as a gay after-beach destination for 10+ years like Aaron commented, only a few stray foreign tourists with out-of-date information go there now. The truth is, Bofetada never wanted to attract a gay clientele anyway and they didn’t treat their gay clientele very well either. Tô Nem Aí at Rua Farme de Amoedo ,57 is where you’ll find everyone after the beach now.

This place change owners, and nobody goes there anymore.

Actually it had been changed by a Bar on the same street in the corner of Visconde de Piraja, second block from the beach, which name is “Tô nem ai”.

Boy! Are you out of date! Bofetada hasn’t attracted a crowd in about 5 years. ONly a few stray foreign tourists with out-of-date information. Although nothing has quite replaced it, the place where people now go after the beach is “Nao Tou Nem Ai” (which means “Couldn’t Care Less” and is on the corner of Farme de Amoedo and Visconde Piraja.
